 Date of Birth: 25.05.1948

 Place: Bannikoppa, Shirahatti taluk, Gadag district.

Primary education:  He completed primary and secondary education at Shirahatti.
Higher education: B.Sc, B.Ed, M.A, GD Arts, GD Modelling.
He served as the Editor of ‘Vijnana Sangati’ (a monthly science magazine) published by the Kannada University of Hampi in Hospete taluk of Bellary district.

Awards and honours:

1960 – First place in the State in wildlife drawing competition.
1966 – First place in the State in the Drawing Teachers’ Course (DTC) .
1967 – First prize in youth cultural painting show.
1968 – Best artist prize in the G.T.College, Gadag.
1970 – First prize in the Karnatak University painting exhibition.
1971 – First prize for ‘Dream’ paint at the painting competition organized by the        Karnataka State Fine Arts Academy.
1971 – ‘Sensible painter’ award bestowed by Dr.Da.Ra.Bendre at Gadag.
1974 – Art Master, first prize at Bharatiya Kala Kendra, Dharwad.
1975 – First place in G.D.Arts.
1976 – Secured 4th rank in B.Ed examination for the Karnatak University, Dharwad.
1978 – Intermediate Modeling – First place in the State.
1979 – Advanced modeling – first place in the State.
1979 – First prize in the state in G.D.Modeling (Kalanipuna – Art Maestro)
1981 – Selected among 10 artists to the art camp by noted artist Dr.K.K.Hebbar.

1981-1989 – National N.C.E.R.T Award, New Delhi. The essay – Change, a retrospection based on the national comprehensive attitude among students through the integration camp fetched Sri.Suresh Kulkarni the NCERT award.
1992 – ‘Adarsha Guru’ State award presented by Sri.Satya Saibaba of Puttaparthi. He received ‘Sharada Shalmala Award’ from Padmabhushan Smt.Gangubai Hangal.
 The book ‘Nobel prize recipient scientists’ (Nobel Prashasti Vijeta Vijnanigalu) bagged Dr.S.G.Nagalotimath Award.
2015- ‘Bendre Kalaratna’ Award for the book ‘Bendre kala yoga’.
Many organizations and religious institutions have honoured for best service.
·        Served as a member of the experts committee of composing Banuli Kaipidi (AIR booklet) under the aegis of District Primary Education Programme, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) and DSERT under the Distance Education Scheme.
·        Selected as a panelist for the teleconference of the state level Keli-Kali (Listen and Learn) Akashvani programme for BRCs and CRCs organized by DEP/DPEP on August 5 and February 27 in 2003.
·        Served as textbook composition committee for 9th and 10th standards. On August 24, 2002, the then Primary Education Minister B.K.Chandrashekhar released a book titled ‘Kushala Kaleya Kutuhala Jeevigalu’ and the then Vice Chancellor of Bangalore University Dr.Thimmappa honoured Mr.Kulkarni on the occasion.
